With the cut locked Art of Power is brought on several hard drives to Cinevera's office in Grand Rapids to have the look of the film finalized. Chad will use Apple's Color to grade the film and finish what he started in-camera on the set.
The film is very visually-driven and relies heavily on color and camera work to propel the story and differentiate between time periods and states of mind of the characters. We used a lot of in-camera color tweaking on set to start the different looks we knew we wanted, but once in the Color suite we saw how far we could still go with the look. The Red has great latitude for a digital camera and the raw codec offers so many options for the final product.
The film is expected to be finished and submitted to festivals near the end of March.

With a working title of, The Bunny Lady, Tom Seidman, a Michigan native turned LA Assistant Director/Producer hired CineVera Pictures to shoot his directorial debut film. Shot over 3 weeks with a modest $200,000 budget, the film boasts a critical role played by Florence Henderson (Carol Brady - The Brady Bunch) as well as a top-notch cast from both Los Angeles and surrounding Michigan areas. A passion project for Tom and several others, the crew was entirely local to Michigan and thus the production will take full advantage of the current tax incentives for shooting in Michigan.
The film is expected to be out for the 2010 holiday season.
Shot on the Red One with Zeiss Super Speeds
